It's almost here!!!!

Howdy,

Busy, amazing, fun, and fast are all words that immediately pop to mind when I begin reflecting on my last few weeks. With the end of my year so close, I think it’s finally starting to hit home that one of the best years of my life will be over soon. Not that I’m counting or anything… but I only have 16 more days to serve! Many people ask me if I am excited about being done, and others ask me if I’m going to be sad. I have to say yes to both of these things. It’s definitely a bittersweet feeling… but after getting to know the 10 Incoming State Officers, I know that the Texas FFA will be in good hands. I am excited to see what new door will open in my life as this one closes, but I am also very sad to hang the jacket up that I have so proudly worn for an entire year.

My team and I spent almost a week in Austin writing our session scripts for State Convention. As stressful as this might have been at times, it was such a relief to have it done! (I am currently in College Station memorizing these scripts, but I’m using this time right now for a little break!) When it was time to leave Austin, we then began our long drive to Anna, TX for State Leadership Conference. I had the privilege to Chair this camp and I can honestly say, it couldn’t have gone any better! For those of you who were there, we had a few technical difficulties, but other than that everything went great!! I was truly amazed at how talented each of the Area Officers were. Without them, our camp would not have been half the success that it was! I was also incredibly blessed to have my 9 teammates always there willing to do whatever, whenever!!

After State Degree Check and a few days break, I was then lucky enough to attend the Area VII Leadership camp in Bastrop. I had an absolute blast!! These Area officers spent a lot of time into also producing a very successful camp. It was such a neat feeling to see them actually apply everything they learned just days earlier at SLC. One thing about this camp that sticks out most was a very sweet Happy Gram I received. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Happy Grams, they are the camper’s opportunities to write other campers. Without repeating what the note said, it truly made my day and gave me assurance that the Lord is, and will continue working in my life!

On Monday morning I will get to attend my very own, and very last Area IV Leadership Camp. I’m excited to see what the team has in store. The next couple of weeks are going to be nothing short of crazy, yet unforgettable. My team and I will spend a week rehearsing for Convention before we actually arrive in Dallas. I should probably end it here because I don’t want to tear up thinking about it! Haha. If you will be there, I CAN’T WAIT!!! I hope you are as excited I am to kick off the 81st Texas FFA Convention and ready to Discover Your Dreams! See ya there!

Be Blessed,
Macy
